Finding the right mic can be tough or at least it has been for me. I tried to save a few dollars here and there but have found that if I'm willing to spring for a bit more, the quality will increase. Certainly there are deals out there for quality sound equipment at a low price but I've found in most cases, higher cost correlates with higher quality.
Today we take a look at the iRig Mic Studio from IK Multimedia. The entry price is $179.99, so it's not cheap. The sound quality is quite nice and the support from IK Multimedia was swift whenever I had a question. I expect that email support will take several hours – this had to be within an hour of me sending in a question and I just used the normal consumer route. No special access or anything like that and they got back to me very quickly. Plus, it's my belief that the issue I experienced on Windows was a Windows issue having nothing to do with iRig Mic Studio – so, don't let that scare you off.

Wishlist
- More iOS compatibility with headphone output
- Eliminate windows issues or include some note inside the box as a known issue
- Have a sale? 🙂
I hear you on the “have a sale” wish item. I’m comparing the Yeti vs this iRig but only see $$ as the real difference.
