Mobile Advertising: Rapid Growth And Evolution [Infographic]

How many times have you ignored banner ads on your smartphone?  They aren’t the most sophisticated advertising medium, so it can be surprising to even see them around anymore.  Banner ads were the earliest form of mobile advertising, adapted from traditional banner ads on desktop versions of your favorite websites.  They were terribly ineffective, and 38% of people who click on them do so by accident.  Thankfully mobile advertising has evolved to suit the mobile platform, and mobile advertising has now grown to a $64 billion a year industry.  It is expected to be half of all advertising dollars spent in just a couple of years.
