Best Oktoberfests In America [Infographic]

If you can’t make it to Munich for Oktoberfest this year, chances are there’s still a pretty good celebration happening near you.  Whether you’re East coast, West coast, or Midwest, there are ample opportunities for you to celebrate your German heritage this fall.

San Francisco makes the list of the top 8 somewhat surprisingly.  There are 17 German clubs in the city, proving you don’t have to be near the Alps to party like it.  Chicago’s Oktoberfest celebration boasts homemade bratwurst as well as a German heritage parade.

Oktoberfest Zinzinnati is the second largest Oktoberfest celebration in the world, second only to Munich, Germany.  In 2004 they set the record for the most people dancing the chicken dance.  They are said to go through 1700 barrels of beer each year, which are stored in refrigerated trailers throughout the city during the three day celebration.  Learn more about notable Oktoberfest celebrations near you from this infographic.
