Interviewing potential candidates can be stressful for interviewers and interviewees alike. Interviewers might not be sure they are getting the best candidates for the job, and interviewees might not be sure they will be valued if they get the job.
This is especially important because people are staying at jobs for shorter periods of time than ever before. The average length of employment is now only 4.4 years, and even that is on the decline. Millennials, who will soon make up the majority of the workforce, only expect to keep a job three years or less.
In order to get the best potential candidates, interviewers need to think outside the box. Instead of asking typical interview questions like, “where do you see yourself in five years”, ask instead, “how many golf balls would fit inside a school bus?”. You will have the opportunity to see a candidate’s critical thinking skills in action. Learn more from this infographic.
