There are many things that people do every day without realizing. The subconscious controls a great deal without a person actively realizing it. The brain dictates what we’re motivated by, how many people we engage with and the way we place value on things.

Have you ever noticed that you are more likely to take note of something if it includes sex, danger or food? This isn’t the influence of media — it’s the influence of human nature. A human’s basic instincts include procreation, staying safe and eating — A brain takes notice when it sees things that will help or hurt these initiatives.

Human nature also dictates that people imitate and empathize with others. “Mirror neurons” allow people to share another person’s experiences and provoke the action of imitating the other. This is why babies imitate facial expressions.

There are many things that human being do because it is programmed into the brain’s operating system. What else do you do without realizing?
