It seems that there are just not enough hours in the day to get things done. Between work and family and maintaining a passable social life, there is a margin of zero for wasted time. Of adults with children in their homes, 37% report that, if they had more free time, they would spend it with family and friends. And yet, the average adult has sixteen minutes of their day drained away from waiting for their slow computers to “catch up” with them.
US adults report that a slow computer is one of their top frustrations, that they have less patience for slow computers than their children, and that working with a slow computer is more draining than a hard workout. Sixteen minutes per day adds up to 1.9 hours per week, and eight hours per month. Added together, that is a yearly waste of over four whole days.
