Cold/flu symptoms result in overall loss in performance by three to eight percent; dust exposure affects workers’ cognitive skills by two to six percent. Unplanned absences cause major workplace problems, including a 54 percent decrease in productivity/output and a 39 percent drop in sales/customer service.
