Ever wanted to fast forward to 2020 and take a look at America? You can expect homes to be smaller, more energy-efficient and more technologically advanced. What about the job picture? Fastest job growth is expected to take place in Phoenix, AZ, Tucson, AZ, El Paso, TX, Las Vegas, NV and Colorado Springs, CO. According to a Georgetown University study, 65 percent of all jobs will require post-secondary education and training, up from 28 percent in 1973. The fastest growing jobs will likely include Personal Care Aide, Home Health Aide, Biomedical Engineer, Brickmason and Carpenter.
How about a snapshot of the population in 2020? The fastest growing areas will probably include Raleigh, NC, Kennewick, WA, Austin, TX, Provo-Orem, UT, and Hinesville, GA. Nationally, minorities will comprise 40 percent of the population in 2020, with Hispanics accounting for close to 20 percent, according to Intuit 2020 report.
