How many times have you ever gone on a road trip without food? Probably never! It is the road trip custom that we have adopted as a culture to snack while on the road. You have probably had a variety of chips, sandwiches, and jerky to keep yourself occupied while on your journey. Well here are some snacks that are easy to prepare for your road trip. There are also a few that you can find at just about any gas station!

Fruit
Slice up some apples. Peel a few oranges. Bring some grapes and strawberries. These are all wonderful snacks while you are on the road. If you really do not want to put any effort into it just bring some bananas. Make sure you bring a grocery sack to throw away all of your accumulated trash.

Nuts
These guys are filled with protein and are very healthy. You can find them not just in your grocery store but also in just about every gas station out there. Go ahead and go nuts over nuts! Just stay away from corn nuts… they produce bad breath and are not healthy.

Jerky
Jerky is one of my favorite snacks when it comes to road trips. Thankfully they are also pretty healthy for you. I have to admit they do produce a bit of bad breath but if you bring some gum or mints you should be fine. Just don’t go overboard.

Trail Mix
These are just awesome. It is the perfect mixture of all the things listed above. Make sure that you do not include things like Doritos or other unhealthy snacks. If you are just dying to have a bit of unhealthy things in your trail mix go ahead and include a few M&Ms or chocolate chips. It won’t kill you.

These are all wonderful snacks to take on your road trip. Make sure you also pack plenty of liquids. I would honestly stay away from Gatorade and stock up on coconut water (hydrates better while you are not sweating; if you sweat then drink Gatorade). Keep your stuff in coolers to keep them fresh. Drive safe, get and oil change, and check the tire pressure! Check out these security systems that can keep your home safe while you are away. We got Garland home security. So worth it. Set a budget for your trip and have fun!
