There are no stupid questions in the job interview process in place for some of the world’s most powerful companies—but do you have a smart answer? About 76 percent of the productivity and contribution level of an employee is determined by his or level of intelligence, which explains why employers ask such challenging, and sometimes weird, questions during interviews. During an interview at Goldman Sachs, for example, you may be asked, “If you were shrunk to the size of a pencil and put in a blender, how would you get out?” The real question—disguised as this oddball—is, “How well do you problem solve?”

Emotional intelligence is also factored heavily during job interviews at some of these powerful companies—71 percent of employers said they value emotional intelligence more than IQ.
