An event hosted by Modern Man and Chivas Brotherhood 1801, in LA at Gallery 26. The event showcased San Francisco suit makers “Artful Gentleman” alongside with “Tie Society” and complimentary grooming services courtesy of The Blind Barber (LA/NY). Libations by none other than, Chivas. Also on hand was a live performance by Jill Lamoureux.

An array of suits were on display for the Artful Gentleman collection as well as women's dresses. Artful Gentleman is based out of San Francisco by appointment only. They not only cater to men for suits but to women as well. They have a distinct trait, the stitching around the button holes on their suits, or vests, they use a contrast color stitching. Gives it a little pop, and makes their brand noticeable. Models were on hand wearing the colorful suits.

Tie Society's Chief Marketing Officer, Jake was on hand to answer any questions about their service, along with a few bowties. Tie Society has been called the “Netflix of Ties” – Based out of Washington D.C. two college buddies came up with the idea of exchanging ties while hanging out watching football. Their idea went viral.

Not strictly ties, but they also have cufflinks, tie bars, and pocket squares, which you can rent by the month. These accessories can surely add up to the gentlemen who wears dress clothes on the daily…Females have a plethora of items to rent; everything from shoes, to wedding dresses, designer purses and high end gowns all for rent.

So why not ties? Excellent idea, with a lucrative market. Economy issues are prominent, why not save a buck or two and look good doing it. Why should women get all the luxuries, Tie Society offers such brands like: Brooks Brothers, Burberry and Hermes.

The event was filled with such celebrities such as Terrell Tilford of Vh1's Single Ladies, Maxi Priest, singer Emily Rose, actor Said Faraj, and from the BBC series Holby City, Jimmy Akingbola.

The Art of the Suit was curated by Shaun Saunders of Graffiti PR, and a big Happy Birthday to him. For more information on the Artful Gentleman visit their site: www.artfulgentleman.com
Their home is located at 1687 Market Street, San Francisco (415)527.7611 by appointment only.
