I first met some of the folks who produced this game last year at San Diego ComicCon and have been eagerly anticipating this game launch. From the press release:

“‘Creating something truly special is incredibly challenging. You have got to really want it: you have to be passionate; you have to care about it, and you have to dedicate yourself,’ said Darrell Gallagher, head of studio at Crystal Dynamics. ‘We have a studio full of talented people who have put their hearts into making this game – this is not just a game on their resume, speak to any one of them, they’ve been on a journey. We hope that the game we’ve built will endure and that this is a well deserving renaissance for Lara Croft.'”

In person, though i did not interview them on camera, everyone involved seemed genuinely excited and engaged which makes it that much better.  When I can feel positive energy coming from a group of people like that, I tend to root for them.  I haven’t played the game yet but it looks to be pretty fun.  If you’ve tried it out, let us know your thoughts!

The game, written by Rhianna Pratchett and John Stafford, takes you back in time to Laura Croft’s beginnings and tells the story of her transition in to an adventurer. It’s available for XBox 360, PS3 and the PC today.
