First, if you're not following Twitter CEO Dick Costolo, you need to – you never know what the guy is going to publish, and usually his updates have some significance to those of us that utilize his service on a daily basis.
Case in point, his teaser tweet from yesterday entitled “Steak tartare in six seconds.”

This tweet was so significant because in it Dick had a preview of the new Vine service that allows users to embed 6 seconds of video directly into their tweets.
That is relevant because again – it's directly embedded and not just a linked to video.
Per the release notes the app today will allow:
• Unlimited uploads
• Instantly post videos on Vine, then share to Twitter and Facebook (more coming soon!)
• Find, follow, and interact with people close to you
• Explore trending posts, featured hashtags and editor's picks
The app is free and is only available for iOS devices now (more platforms coming soon obviously).
What are your thoughts on this idea? Can you see yourself taking advantage of this functionality?
