Surviving CES 2013 in Las Vegas 2

If anyone is familiiar with the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) you know that it can be very overwhelming to say the least.  So many vendors, so many people and so much new technology to see.

I am pleased to say that I survived CES 2013.  I went there with a goal and plotted out how I would acheive that goal.
With so many vendors at this event I tried to pinpoint where all of the large vendors were positioned and scheduled time to visit them all the while stopping at other vendors in between. those vendors.  It was still overwhelming but in a more manageable way.  I could not believe all of the incredible new technology that I was facing.
It worked out very well.  I was also able to get in a few corporate and celebrity interview of which you will read about in my other articles.
However let me give you a brief summary of my time at CES 2013.  Let's begin with Sunday January 6 The CES 2013 unveiling.
The CES unveling was held at the Mandalay Hotel.  This was the a chance for all press to check-in as well as an overview of what was to come in the next week.

Surviving CES 2013 in Las Vegas 3It was also an introduction of a few of the vendors and their current and new lines of products.  We walked around for the next 3 hours networking with the crowd and speaking with the vendors.  It was nice.  One of my HicksNewMedia colleagues even got an interview with the Marley family at their booth.

Monday January 7 was the actual Press day and I have to tell you there were a ton of us there; press people that is.  This was a chance for us to attend the vendor press conferences.  This was very informative and a productive day for us at HicksNewMedia.  The vendors presented their latest and greatest as well as their plans for the future and future products.
Products vendors have made strides in their new technology by making products that are more convenient to setup and use.  They are making life easier so you can spend more time with family and friends rather than struggling with cumbersome devices.   They have created technologies such as voice command remotes, wireless phone chargers and there is now technology that will allow you to see what is in your refrigerator while you are at the supermarket.
How amazing is that?

For the most part I believe that vendors have been listening to their customers and improving their products based on their consumer's input and challenges.  Look for my articles on the individual products.
On Tuesday January 8 I also attended the first day CES was open to the consumer.  I have never seen so many people in one place in my life.  There were people there from all walks of life.  CES is truly international.
As far as surviving this very large event there was a ton of walking from press conference to press conference and vendor booth to vendor booth.  I made sure to wear comfortable shoes and take in plenty of water.
And relaxing afterwards?  That wasn't an issue, we took in what Las Vegas had to offer.  I would tell you but I do not want to break the code.  What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas..
