The X-mini Kai is a fun, versatile and great sounding portable Bluetooth speaker for your Bluetooth compatible music players and smartphones. Plus, with a 3.5 millimeter plug, most music playing devices will work, just not wirelessly.
For my test, I used my iPhone 4S which paired very easily with the X-mini™ KAI. Take a look at the following video for a viewing of the unboxing and some commentary about the X-mini KAI.
The device sounds great and probably is best suited for a small room or a semi-quiet area. I have been using in my office to listen to music and as a speaker for one of my laptops. So, I’ve found that it works very well in an office setting. I also took it on a recent golf outing and provided some tunes for my group at a charity golf event and it performed well. The device is sturdy enough to be jostled around in the cart without losing any sound or getting damaged and was a great conversation piece. It’s also sturdy enough to survive a fall from the top of a refrigerator all the way to a concrete floor with no apparent issues. The sound was up high and the little guy vibrated off the side straight to the floor. It rolled around a bit and came to rest while still playing away.
The compact size make it ideal for taking along with you wherever you go and the microphone make it a nice speaker phone when needed. Similar to all other Bluetooth devices I’ve tried, very rarely you may hear some skipping or cutting in and out of the sound. This only happened once during the time I tested out this device but it only lasted a few seconds and I attributed it to some other interference.
I give the X-mini KAI a thumbs up.
The device is retail priced at – $99.00 and will be featured this year at CES – at Booth 6713, iLounge – LVCC North Hall.
