According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the sexually transmitted disease epidemic is on the rise. Chlamydia is most common in the state of Hawaii and 1 in 15 sexually active females ages 14-19 has chlamydia. Chlamydia is also the most frequently recorded STD in the United States. Next on the list we have gonorrhea with 309,341 cases being reported in America and Mississippi with the highest gonorrhea rate. There are 476,732 cases of AIDS reported in the United States and a person is 2 to 5 times more likely to get HIV if exposed when syphilis sores are present.
