Scientists have long known that symmetry is tied to attraction. A symmetrical face is seen as a sign of good genes and good health. So what exactly does face symmetry have to do with being drunk?

Studies show that drunk people find it more difficult to tell if a face is symmetrical or not. With “beer goggles” on, perception starts being altered. It takes as little as a pint and a half of beer to give you said “beer goggles”. Even low doses of alcohol can increase your self-confidence, sexual desire, and sociability. When under the influence, you begin to experience disinhibition- the loss of inhibition. Pretty much, the more you drink, the more that little voice of reason disappears.
