In fact, social media is one of the biggest culprits when it comes to distractions at work. According to a study done my Microsoft, there are an average of four social media interruptions an hour and over 40% of disrupted tasks are not immediately resumed.
So even though social media can be a great marketing tool, it can be a double edged sword, because it can drastically affect productivity. In fact, many businesses have banned certain social sites on their network so that employees won’t even be tempted.
