Sometimes in the world of film, the cars become as big as the stars, when this does happen, you can bet that someone is going to reproduce some movie magic and sell it to the general public.

So what would you go for if you could pick a car from a film to own in real life? Which homage to movie magic would you feel happiest leaving outside Wal-Mart?

Alternatively you could use these cars as an investment and rent them out to TV shows and advertising production companies – everyone stops and stares when a unique car drives by so imagine all the views the ad would get!

The following is a list of replica movie cars that you can actually buy. Because practicality is overrated. Who needs ABS when you have flamethrowers?!

Batman’s Batmobile

The Batmobile has had many forms over the years, with the most recent incarnation (pun intended) resembling more of a mine clearing device rather than a motor vehicle.

This one however is based on the classic model from the 1966 television show and will set you back a cool $185,000. KER–POW!!

The Delorean from Back to the Future

You may not be able to buy a hover board yet, but you can still get yourself the next best thing, a full replica of the Delorean from Back to the Future, complete with flux capacitor, accurate sound effects from the movie and a host of other treats.

The price is dependent on a number of factors, but I guess if you are serious about buying such a vehicle then you probably have more pressing matters to worry about, such as remembering your next appointment with your psychiatrist…

James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5

The most recognised and well loved of all the Bond cars, and therefore the most expensive. You can pick up a BMW Z3 as driven in 3 Bond films, for as little as $2500. An Aston Martin DB5 on the other hand will set you back anything in the region of $300,000 to $600,000 depending on its condition.

The DB5 was first used in the Bond film Goldfinger with its impressive array of defensive features including a bullet proof screen and a… (you know where this is going)… ejector seat! Three cheers for the prop department!

Kitt from Knightrider

Faithful KITT was Michael’s (played by the Hoff) trusty companion throughout the Knightrider series. KITT(Knight Industries Two Thousand) was a car that spoke with a charmingly camp voice and helped Michael to get himself out of many an awkward situation.

KITT is one of the more popular recreations of cars you can buy due to the fact that the facelift from a stock model isn’t comprehensive. Some flashing lights and a new coat of paint should do it.

Own your very own KITT for $13,000. Camp voice optional.

02 glorious KITT

So, if you were looking to bit something a bit different than your average Toyota Prius, then look no further. These cars are all road legal and ready to go.

Personally, I would have to go for the Aston Martin if I could afford one (who actually can?).

Need to save the pennies up? Maybe you could start your own hit TV show about a TV executive who also moonlights as a Doctor and probably fights crime too? “Dr.TV, production, coming soon”.

Have I missed any movie cars off the list that you think would match these famous sets of wheels?
