You can pretty much do anything on your smartphone nowadays; whether it be download and listen to music, to getting your favorite game, to downloading an exercise and diet routine. However, be aware of how much you’re downloading or it’ll really come to bite you in the behind when you get that monthly bill.
What will rack up your cell phone bill, you ask? Data. Every smartphone and mobile carrier distributed tablet will come with a data plan. Most plans are set up by gigabyte usage. A gigabyte is made up of 1024 megabytes, 1024 kilobytes and 1024 bytes. An average movie download will use about 2 gigabytes, downloading 150 apps will take up one gigabyte as well as having 13.5 albums of music and streaming 28.5 hours of Pandora radio.
When downloading your favorite movie, or getting that must have hot game, check the amount of gigabytes used already for the month. Because, if you are on Verizon Wireless or AT&T, you will be paying $10 per gigabyte if you go over. Avoid it if you can, take advantage of WiFi and stop those automatic updates on your apps.
