Hang on to your golf clubs, as after a 112 year absence, golf returns to the Olympics in 2016!
To compete for a medal the competitors will have to complete a 72-hole individual stroke play tournament, with the lowest score winning the gold! Any ties will be decided by a three hole playoff.

A new golf-course is being built specially for the event, and Tiger Woods has vowed to try for a medal!

But golf won’t be the only new sport at the Olympics in 2016; golf will be joined by rugby which has also made the grade. Furthermore, the International Sailing Federation recently announced that windsurfing will now be dropped in favour of kite surfing.

In total the 2016 Olympics will feature 28 sports and 38 disciplines!

The Logo

The logo for the 2016 Olympics has already been revealed, and it’s formed of three figures embracing, with the famous Olympic rings beneath them.
