Blogging, digital publishing, whatever you want to call it – it's what's happening and it's what's big. Actually, it hasn't even began to explode yet since the market has so much incredible potential.
I, like millions of other bloggers use WordPress as our platform of choice for a number of reasons, but it eventually boils down to the phenomenal community of designers, developers, and everyday users that help to make WordPress the most robust content management and blogging platform on the market today – PERIOD. If you want to debate that, let's save it for another post on another day…
Attentively reviewing my Twitter stream this evening I noticed something interesting coming from one of the organizations that I follow almost religiously as they continue to provide high quality products and services. That would be StudioPress and the whole CopyBlogger team (shouts out to the two Brians – Gardner and Clark).
Tonight in Brian Clark's stream he posted something interesting
Oh yeah – that's how they roll alright…Needless to say I was intrigued. Already being Pro Plus member of StudioPress I know they've got something massive under their sleeves.
And then, a few hours later Brian unwraps the exciting news to his 91,000+ followers that not only will CopyBlogger be pumping out killer WordPress themes and plugins. But starting RIGHT NOW, they will be offering full service, managed WordPress hosting under the name Synthesis:
Synthesis is NOT your everyday managed hosting offering – as a matter of fact they explicitly mention on the new site that
We don’t want just anyone with a website as a client…If you’re a random visitor here, odds are you’re not going to choose to work with us.
Man it takes real moxie to tell it like it is and I highly respect these guys for making that bold statement upfront.
I won't go into all the details, but only touch on the highlights (I'll let you head over to the Synthesis site yourself for details). But it looks like they're building the business around the pillars of: Performance | Security | Expertise – I agree 100% that these guys have each of those functions nailed.
Looking at the pricing tiers – their stuff ain't all that cheap, but dammit it's good.
For my needs I'd fit somewhere right in the middle of the Professional and Advanced tiers. The dedicated VPS and Genesis Framework alone are well worth the monthly cost.
Congratulations StudioPress. Congratulations CopyBlogger. Glad to see you guys continuing to move the needle in a positive direction for the overall WordPress community. I have no doubt that this this new offering will be wildly successful.
