Finally someone realizes that the mere checkin on geo-location based apps is pretty much dead and, frankly, is quite boring now.
We, the user and consumer want something more for that value 5 seconds it takes us to checkin to a location – we want deals, we want something either free or discounted, but mostly we want personalization of the experience.
Josh Williams, co-founder and CEO of Gowalla was on stage at TechCrunch Disrupt yesterday and announced that his company is doing just that – stepping through the checkin and getting to the personalized story !
