Tree Houses and Zip Lines

My family just returned from a week-long road trip into  Southern Oregon and by far the most memorable part of the trip for my four-year-old son was the afternoon we spent on a zip line course near Cave Junction.  At the Out’n'About resort no child is too young or too old to have fun.  The resort is home to 12 tree-houses and over a mile of zip lines.  The tree-houses sleep anywhere from 2 to 7 guests and each of them has it’s own unique design.  Once you are settled into accommodations the resort is home to activities such as horseback riding, tye-dye making, tile mosaic designing and of course the zip lines.   This was a great resort that starts with what I believe is the best breakfast I have ever had at any B&B, and includes kitchen facilities and a central campfire area for the ultimate cross between camping/bed and breakfast/resort.

For the adrenaline junkies the zip line course is a great way to spend an afternoon.  There is no age limit to join the fun, only a minimum and maximum weight.   To enjoy the ride you must be over 30lbs. and less than 200lbs.  My four-year-old son weighs in at around 40lbs and the staff took great care to make sure he was outfitted with a proper fitting harness and that would not put him in any danger.  After completing the Basic course at Out’n'About he was ecstatic and could not wait to go again. He has asked me every day when we are going again and has “built” more than one zip line around the house since we returned.  We all are excited about going “zipping” again, I only hope that the next course we find is as accommodating as the on at Out’n'About.
