Best Buy To Launch HTC Flyer Wi-Fi Version on May 22
Another tablet is coming out soon. This time, it is made by Taiwan-based manufacturer of smart phones, HTC. Flyer is the name and we’ll have to wait if this tablet will pass with flying colors.
Best Buy has an exclusive offering for this Android-based tablet and it will sell for around $500, just like the iPad 2. They announced it last March that spring is the target date and they stay true to their word.
On May 22, Best Buy and its retail locations via Best Buy Mobile will feature on their shelves HTC Flyer. Though no official word was disclosed regarding the price, rumors has it that it will retail just like the iPad 2.
One of the setbacks we’re anticipating is the operating system as this tablet will run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and not on Honeycomb. To offset that, it boasts a 7-inch, 1024×600 screen resolution, 16 GB of storage and runs on a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm processor. It also has a couple of cameras, 1.3 megapixels on the front and a 5 megapixel one on the back. Further, it comes with a microSD slot.
Unfortunately, the HTC Flyer doesn’t currently have 3G or 4G options. If you prefer that type of connectivity, you may have to wait a little more for the new version.
Anyway, the launch is close and we just have to wait to get our hands this new tablet.
