Sony PSN Breach: The Fallout 1Sony has added some more information regarding their PlayStation Network hack. Sony has posted a list of Frequently Asked Questions regarding PSN and Qrocity services being down.

According to FAQ item 14, the following personally identifiable information has been compromised: name, address including Street, County, and Zip Code, as well as country, email address, and birth date. Sony also acknowledges that login name, password and PSN online ID, purchase history, billing address, and any sub-accounts have also been compromised.

Sony has not definitely declared whether the attackers obtained Credit card numbers as well as expiration dates, but anecdotal reports have indicated that this is the case.

This is the longest that the PSN has been down since its inception.

Sony has not offered any sort of refund on service nor has it even offered consumers any potential protection for fraudulent activity. Despite this, Sony has been forthcoming with information regarding the breach and has kept users abreast of their latest findings. I am sure there will be some lawsuits as a result of this breach, but time will tell.
