What's the most comparable tablet out there to the newly announced iPad 2? Probably Motorola's Xoom.
That being said – check out this nice graphic put out by the folks at businessinsider.com showing some of the technical specs between the two tablets.
I'll be writing more later on my impressions of today's announcement. Would love to hear your opinions and if you believe the Xoom is the right device to compare against the iPad 2 – should I instead use a Galaxy Tab? A Playbook? Tell me.
The Moto Xoom is the only device close enought to compare to the iPad. They both look like pretty nice devices, but sinces the Xoom only has one device (high end also), I feel they will have a hard time competing with the iPad. Plus, Android has way fewer apps, which makes it that much more difficult to compete too. Good luck to Moto though…
Saying that the one is better that the other is nonsense. It's like comparing apples and oranges. The ipad is an app machine while the xoom more of a pc like experience. I got a xoom and really like it but I am a tech type. For casual use and simple interface the ipad is good. If you want to run stuff like firefox, move actual files around is a unix like environment the the adroid is for you. It depends on how some one wants to use it and for what. The compliment each other. Can we all just get along?
@OldGeek Interesting perspective. I'm referencing mainly the app availability perspective. True, folks that want to dive deeper into code and have more of a "unix like environment" like you say – probably the Android device is better (unless you jailbreak the iPad) – ha.And yes – we can all get along 🙂 Thanks for the insight OldGeek
@MacMoe Exactly Jeff – that's the sentiment I was using in my response above to OldGeek
Hello, Neat post. There is an issue with your website in web explorer, might check this? IE still is the market leader and a huge element of other folks will miss your wonderful writing because of this problem.
