After today's extended outage for Skype and their “explanation” that they need to make more super and mega-supernodes – I'm cozying up to my new best friend, Kiki Baessell – the voice behind Google Voice.
With Google's recent announcement that they're going to extend the free U.S. and Canada calling through 2011, Google has become much more attractive.
Also, since I was supposed to renew my Skype number tomorrow and PAY for another 3 months – I'm just not feeling comfortable with that after today.
Am I over-reacting? I don't think so. I'll maintain Skype for it's IM functionality, but will now be doing the majority of my internet telephony calls using my Google Voice number.
