Calgary Hitmen Teddy Bear Toss

At a recent Calgary Hitmen junior league hockey game in Canada, fans gathered for the 16th Annual “Teddy Bear Toss.” Everyone waited patiently for the first goal to be scored and then began covering he ice with teddy bears. Tens of thousands of the cuddly stuffed animals were thrown onto the ice, delaying the game for 40 minutes.

The players hand-delivered all 23,096 of the bears to the Alberta Children’s Hospital.
