Kraft Foods has unveiled exclusive new content for the Big Fork Little Fork iPad app, featuring recipes, tips and how-to videos from world-renowned chef Marcus Samuelsson, an accomplished restaurateur and season two winner of Bravo's Top Chef Masters.
“We first created Big Fork Little Fork as a highly interactive and entertaining resource for parents to engage their families in cooking and eating together,” said Julie Fleischer, Director, CRM Content Strategy & Integration at Kraft Foods. “Chef Samuelsson brings a global sensibility to the app by sharing international flavors from his personal experience, helping to stretch kids' palates.”
Samuelsson, who is passionate about engaging children in the kitchen, put his heart into developing fresh content with Kraft Foods for his Big Fork Little Fork collection, including:
- 50 recipes spanning breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack-time focused on families interacting in the kitchen; such as Yummy Roast Chicken, Sweet Potato Mash and Banana-OREO Lassi
- Tips and tricks offering easy cooking solutions and ideas
- 10 how-to videos demonstrating cooking skills and step-by-step professional instructions that illustrate how easy it is to involve kids in the kitchen
“Drawing from personal experience, I know that introducing children to fresh cooking and global flavors at a young age can help broaden tastes and inspire a sincere appreciation for food and healthy eating,” said Chef Samuelsson. “Cooking is a cultural experience, and I'm happy to share my experience and passion with families through Kraft Foods' Big Fork Little Fork.”
Beyond serving as an entertaining cooking resource for parents and kids, Big Fork Little Fork is also ideal for parents looking to expand the palates of their children or families through rousing recipes like Yummy Roast Chicken, which takes the dish beyond just the breasts and legs, or Sweet Potato Mash, a colorful alternative to the traditional mashed potatoes.
“We've seen rapid adoption of the iPad as an information tool in the home, and we believe it has great potential in the kitchen,” said Fleischer. “Big Fork Little Fork is the only iPad app that helps families eat better by giving them access to the expertise of a premier chef like Marcus Samuelsson.”
The Marcus Samuelsson cooking guide and recipe collection for Big Fork Little Fork is available for purchase from within the Big Fork Little Fork iPad app for $4.99. The base Big Fork Little Fork is available at the iTunes App Store for FREE until December 31, 2010.
