Lee Westwood has accomplished a feat thought unobtainable, ending Tiger Woods’ 280 week run as the number one golfer in the world.

Ranked number 3 in June, his win at the US Open signaled the beginning of his “Power Phase” where he was the first European in 40 years to win the U.S. Open. To give himself the competitive edge, Westwood, like many pro-athletes, integrates Power Plate exercise into his training regimen to increase strength, stability and power.

“I was introduced to the Power Plate machine and was immediately impressed with the versatility and applications specific to golf conditioning including hamstring stretch, massage (for recovery/relaxation) and for developing my core stability,” says Westwood. “I have now progressed [my fitness regimen] to the Power Plate pro5Air to further develop stability and power in my golf swing.”

Westwood has been applauded by the golf community for increasing his lean muscle mass and reducing body fat through diligent training, including Power Plate exercise, and he has reaped the benefits from a healthier physique on the course.

Power Plate technology provides one of the most efficient, dynamic total-body workouts in less than 30 minutes utilizing scientifically-proven Advanced Vibration Technology that works up to 95 percent of muscle fibers while you exercise. The result is a high-intensity exercise that increases strength, improves muscle tone and balance and helps reduce body fat.

“Power Plate is proud to be a part of Lee Westwood’s successful career as the world’s number one player,” says Mark de Gorter, President of Power Plate North America. “While many professional golfers like Lee use Power Plate technology to increase their core strength, flexibility, stability and muscle power, we’re finding golfers of all abilities are turning to Power Plate to enhance their game.”
