It hasn’t been made official, who will take Simon Cowell’s spot as the next judge on American Idol, but Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler reportedly told his fans he has the job – “probably.”
According to People, Tyler broke the news on Saturday night at an after party at Studio 54 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
“[I’m] recording an album and [I’m] probably going to be judge on ‘American Idol,'” the 62-year-old musician said when asked about his upcoming plans.
Adding, “I doing it. What do you think? I’m doing it.”
Earlier on Saturday night during his show at the MGM Grand, Steven joked about the “Idol” rumors, reportedly telling the audience, “The rumors are true ‘ I’m pregnant with Joe Perry’s baby.”
Steven will reportedly join Jennifer Lopez and original judge Randy Jackson the judge’s table for the news season of the hit FOX reality series, although nothing has yet been set in stone. An announcement could come later this morning at 11 AM Pacific time, when FOX’s executive panel for the Television Critics Association takes place in Beverly Hills.
