Meet Matthew Green. A normal guy on a not-so-normal journey.
He has embarked on a personal mission to trek across the great landscape that is, the United States of America.
Matt started in New York City and, within 6 months, plans to end up in Oregon. There is significance to the start and endpoints – he started at Rockaway Beach, New York and will end at Rockaway Beach, Oregon (now that's pretty cool to me !)
Why is Matt doing this? Simple – because he can. No real agenda, no sponsorship, no official cause. Matt has been an avid walker for years and decided it was time he stepped out (pun intended) and took up the adventure of walking across the country.
He's got his rough route planned out, he's got his comfortable shoes, and he's carrying a tote box full of essential supplies (gotta respect the anti-chafing stick; I know since I run marathons…)
Today is day 88 of his trek and Matt is chronicling his adventure both on his blog and through a nice online photo gallery.
Follow Matt online here and to show him some support, drop him an email at: matt@imjustwalkin.com.
Here's highlights from his photo gallery:
Good luck Matt – we'll be watching the journey !
