Standing in the Roosevelt Room of the White House surrounded by Vice President Joe Biden and other senior staff members, here is what Barack Obama looked like as the moment when the vote hit 216 as the House passed the health care reform bill on March 21, 2010.
The vote, historically significant, and in my opinion, THE defining moment that will begin the Obama legacy. Irregardless of the wars we're fighting, irregardless of immigration, education, environmental initiatives – true those are all extremely important issues, but health care is truly a large effort to undertake for any administration.
Obviously with all of the political wrangling lately, it should be of no surprise to anyone that the vote was right down party lines; Republicans stayed far away from this and there were even a handful of Democrats that voted no.
Needless to say, after this landmark vote, Mr. Obama took to the podium to talk about “This is what change looks like”
