I'm thinking the folks over at NORAD are having tons of fun with this yearly tradition now.

With all of the advancements in consumer-based technology and our abilities to get real-time news and information practically anywhere, the yearly ritual of tracking Santa on his journey from the North Pole each Christmas Eve has gone completely social.

By that I mean, there is integration with Google Earth, Facebook, Twitter, and yes OnStar will now give parents and kids the latest coordinates of Saint Nick.

I, personally, think this is way cool – I plan to fire up Google Earth on a laptop connected to the big 61″ HDTV on Christmas Eve and watch the trail.
