Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer coached today’s game against the Baltimore Ravens. This was three days after the unexpected death of his wife.
The Bengals won 17-14
Coach Zimmer had his father, his son and one of his daughters in attendance at the game.
Vikki Zimmer died Thursday night in Cincinnati at the young age of 50. A cause of death hasn’t been announced. The Zimmers were married for 27 years.
Mike Zimmer is in his second season with the Bengals, who face the Ravens in an AFC North showdown. Before the game, both teams were 3-1. With the win, the Bengals gain sole possession of first place in the division.
Zimmer’s defense has been a key part of the Bengals’ success this season, giving up just 19 points per game. [via]
