Barack Obama: Nobel Peace Prize Laureate

Obama Nobel PrizeHe’s been President of the United States for all of 8 months, and his work is deemed so significant across the globe that Barack Obama has won the Nobel Peace Prize.

Amazing and exciting !! What makes this so amazing is that nominations for the prize had to be postmarked by February 1 – only 12 days after Obama took office. The committee sent out its solicitation for nominations last September – two months before Obama was elected president.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee said it honored Obama for his “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.”

“Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world’s attention and given its people hope for a better future,” the committee said.

According to Thorbjorn Jagland, chairman of the Nobel committee, the decision was “unanimous” and came with ease.

For all the moderates and folks on the right, never let it be said that INFOtainment News doesn’t give both sides of the story. With that being said, here’s a little something for you on this topic.
